  • Do not anticipate needing an online shop
  • You aren’t technologically savvy
  • You’d like a website done yesterday

If you meet a few of these criteria – keep reading below!

Why We Chose Squarespace for Michaela’s Website

Before we actually dive into our project, you’ll already know what platform we plan to develop your website on. This is never a one-sided decision, as it’s ultimately yours, but we do want to pitch our professional opinion in!

We chose Squarespace for Michaela’s website because she had a very simple website through a scheduling platform prior. With this in mind, we knew that something that was easy navigable was key. We tend to lean on Squarespace for clients who aren’t as technolgically savvy or if they’ve never had a website before because of it’s easy to use backend.

A big plus of Squarespace is that there’s no maintenance or upkeep (like updating plugins) like there is on WordPress. Many clients are relieved when they hear this!

Branding + Website Strategy: Designing With Intention

Both branding and website design have strategy and meaning behind its creation. Because of this – we have to research and consider all of our criteria before diving into the visuals.

Branding for Michaela Moves Well Squarespace Website

The Michaela Moves Well branding is supposed to feel energetic while also meshing refinement. Most of our clinician clients tend to want the same thing: to be seen as a clinical professional while also feeling relatable and noticeable.

To ensure we depict this correctly, we first look at our clients ideal clients. We ask them:

  • What does your ideal client like to do?
  • Where do they shop?
  • Why might they struggle to work with you?
  • What can you give them that they desire?

The answers to these questions help us to get to know (and become) the person you are trying to attract, so that we can target visually something they’d love.

For the Michaela Moves Well brand, our designer chose to keep the refinement in the typography. She chose an elevated serif font and paired it with connectivity in the letters to actually give the words some visual movement.

To bring in the energetic piece, we decided to go with gradient textures. Gradients scream fun, funky energy. They can also be used very subtly on the website or in social media graphics. We didn’t want anything too overbearing!

Website Planning

The branding process usually gives us a good idea on how the website will look and feel like. However, with Michaela, we wanted to ensure we made the user experience very clear when talking to either fertility clients versus osteoporosis clients. To do this, we visually crafted separate icons for them. On the website, we utilized the icons and actually split her services page in half.

Some other things we wanted to consider on this website were:

  • Positioning Michaela as a trusted, credentialed professional in her specialities
  • Clearly separating out her services to directly speaking to who they serve
  • Showcasing real, testimonials to create relatability
