We are kicking off a new series for the best therapist websites 🤗 In this blogpost, we are recapping a project for GML Therapy based in Texas. Grace is the owner of her private practice focusing in holistic psychotherapy to reduce anxiety. This series focuses on our therapist clients at Chloe Creative and their project stages that quantify them to become the best therapist websites on the internet.

Project Stages of GML Therapy by Chloe Creative
There are multiple stages of ideation and creation our team goes through while working with therapists. Because we are niched down in this space, our projects tend to follow very similar workflows which makes for an efficient process. In this blog post, we will review our process of working with Grace of GML Therapy and how she has now entered into the best therapist websites series.
Ideation & Discovery to Create the Best Therapist Websites on Squarespace
Ideation and discovery is what we call our initial creativity phase. During this phase, we review your intake questionnaire that you’ve submitted and begin crafting brand ideas based on your ideal client and design preferences.
Our process always starts with the discovery call (before becoming a client) so we can really understand your goals to ensure our services will meet your expectations.
The Discovery Call
On the discovery call, we review our intake questionnaire so you know exactly what is expected of you for “homework” before the project kicks off. When the start date of your project actually comes, you can sit back and relax!
During Grace’s discovery call, we learned that she needed her website redesigned so she could begin marketing it immediately. From there, we also suggested an overhaul of her branding because that sets the tone of the website itself.
The One Concept Method
Our studio follows the one concept method – in case you haven’t heard what that’s about, check out this blogpost. As a quick little recap, we basically only present one best concept to our client. There are other studios or individuals who may present 3-5 logo options to their clients which works great for their workflows. We’ve found that providing one concept allows us to maximize the creativity on one singular brand suite.

What the Best Therapist Websites Have in Common: Branding
Now here comes the fun part – let’s discuss how we presented branding concepts to Grace and how we eventually came to the branding that she now uses!
How We Present Initial Concepts
To be as collaborative as possible, we use a program called Markup.io to present brand boards to our clients. Think of this as a way to “click” around a PDF and drop comments as you see fit. That’s exactly what we did with Grace! Here’s her initial concepts:

Here were some of Grace’s comments throughout her document that led us to her revision round:
- Not loving the abstract G in the main font
- Requested a more classic main icon that nods to wellness
- Curious about swapping the lightest green color
- Patterns feel too playful
Revising The Branding for GML Therapy’s Best Therapist Websites
Sometimes we receive revision requests that might not “fit the bill” for what we’d suggest. In the event this happens, one of our team members will reach back out to you via Markup.io and explain why this might not be a strategic decision.
In the end, we are here toserve you! If after our advice you still would like a revision to be made, we will do so! Grace didn’t have any very specific requests to change so we revised based on our best opinion. These are the revisions we completed for Grace:
- New icon
- Changed main typography
- Swapped the lightest green
- Moved forward with less abstract patterns, and instead went to textures
How many rounds does it take to revise a branding?
Our packages include 2 total rounds of revisions. Sometimes this requires clarity on what constitutes an actual “revision”.
At our studio, we consider a revision to be a complete concept change. For example, take a look at this client whom had a completely new concept from initial presentation to her next round:

In Grace’s project, we made her revisions in package range 🙌🏻 And – 99% of the time, this is the case.
To be labeled as one of the best therapist websites, you have to have a very strong branding. We are confident that Grace’s branding can bring in her ideal client while also satisfying her own stylistic preferences. That’s the fun part that branding can bring to the table!
Final File Delivery for Online Psychotherapist
Final files means we’ve received the “Yes, I’ve approved.” statement from you 🙌🏻 And – it’s the most exciting because you can officially begin to use your files as you wish.
What’s included in a final file branding package?
At this point, Grace didn’t have any additional collateral items, so we moved straight into packaging. With each project, we export each logo type individually into three different logo formats: .PNG, .JPG, .SVG.

This process normally takes 1-2 business days and you’ll be notified once it’s completed. For Grace’s project, this is what her final files looked like:

We Make The Best Therapist Websites in Only One Day
In 2024, we launched our newest service offering, a VIP Day. 🎉 In our VIP Days, we craft fully-custom websites in just an 8-hour workday window. These have been super popular because they allow us to get so much done in so little time!
Prep Work for GML Therapy Therapist Website
Of course, with a project with this fast of turnaround time, there has to be preparation involved. Prior to beginning your VIP day, your branding is already completed.
The next step is for you to provide your copywriting to our team. We provide our clients with a custom copywriting template specific for the VIP day timeline – it includes 5 pages and goes section by section what we need.
In addition to copywriting, we also gain access into any platforms necessary for websites such as:
- Registrar
- Host
- Website platform
- Schedulers/client management
The Day to Create The Best Therapist Websites
When the day came to create Grace’s website, we send an email at 7:30AM EST to notify that we are beginning work. Little do our clients know – we’ve actually done quite a lot of prep work prior to this time. We’ve already wireframed the website and just need to focus on development!
By lunch time, Grace gained access to our website review document where page by page we ask you to provide easy-to-understand changes. This can be done either by typing the feedback or dropping Loom videos for us. Either way, we are open to your changes!
Last but not least, we begin implementing your revisions and beginning pre-launch preparation. During Grace’s pre-launch, we optimized her website for mobile, completed her SEO (Search Engine Optimization) based on her copywriting document and did our final quality assurance testing.
By end of business day, GML Therapy was live! 🚀
